Donor-Advised Fund

Serving Veterans Beyond Home Loans

At Low VA Rates, we believe in supporting our veterans. So, in addition to our home loans, we created the Low VA Rates Foundation, a donor-advised fund, in 2015. In the short time since then, we have already donated almost $500,000, with plans to continue donating even more.

Where We Donate

While we have been making charitable donations long before the creation of the Low VA Rates Foundation, we created this fund to help us reach and serve a greater number of veterans.

Because the foundation is a donor-advised fund, we only donate to 501(c)(3) organizations that have been evaluated to make sure they put most of the money towards actual veterans, rather than keeping it for themselves.

Some of the organizations we have donated to include, but are not limited to:

If you are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and you have a need, please contact us. We currently have a balance of over $470,000 in our fund, waiting to be donated to the right military-focused charities.

How We Raise Money

Each year we host a golf tournament with 100% of the entry fees and other financial donations from local and national business being placed into the fund.

We also donate certain portions of each loan we complete. It's our way of giving back to and thanking those veterans who chose us as their lender.

Finally, our employees often donate money out of their own paychecks to go into the fund as a way to honor and support their veteran family members or friends.

A History of the Foundation

Though the foundation itself is not that old, Low VA Rates has been donating to veterans and charities since before we were officially a company. In fact, the earliest traces of the foundation go back as far as 2008, when we hosted our first charity golf tournament.

For many years, money raised by the tournament was donated to the National Advocates for Military Families (NAMF), an organization that provided alarm systems and monitoring for the families of deployed servicemembers.

However, as time went on, we wanted to be able to reach a broader base of veterans, and we wanted more flexibility with the organizations we donated to, which is what led to the creation of the Low VA Rates Foundation.
